No time

It's been roughly 5 weeks since I last posted anything. Work and school have almost literally sucked the life out of me. My dad and I just got internet at the house, which does make things a lot easier. Even then...I really don't have time to do any real studying. Here's a typical day for me: 7 a.m. alarm goes off. try to wake up. press snooze a couple of times. wouldn't be human if i didn't, right? 7:15 a.m. actually get out of bed 7:20 a.m. shower 7:30 a.m. get dressed for work 7:40 a.m. try to remember to: fill my water bottle grab a can of soup & crackers for lunch grab CNA books & supplies eat something on the way out the door then curse myself for forgetting to grab my smock and name tag. unlock/lock the front door, again. 7:45 a.m. drive to work 8 a.m - 4 p.m work 4 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. take coworker(s) home. 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. CNA class 9:15 p.m. change into pj's. find s...

I can do hard things

School has started. I love that on the first day of class it smells of freshly mowed grass and that the buildings smell clean. The Woodbury has gotten its face-lift and parts of campus have gotten a little lift as well. I think it's weird that the incoming freshmen, the ones right out of high school, are so small. I don't know...like whenever you drive past the MTC and the missionaries are, they all look small. Anyhow, I've gone to all my classes and my professors, I think, will all be pretty cool. Although, I'm not terribly excited about my math class. I already missed the second day of class. I had one of those mornings where you intend to wake up and get to class on time, but totally turned off my alarm clock unconsciously turned off my alarm clock. Well, I guess I'd have to be a quarter lucid to reach over and turn it off, but I have absolutely no recollection of ever moving my arm to do so. Let me tell you, it's been a long week of not getting enough sleep...

School is fo' fools

My first class starts in a few minutes.  I'm getting little butterflies in my tummy. I don't know if it's because I'm excited (which I am...a little anyway), apprehensive (which, again, I am), or just  sheer unpreparedness fluttering about my stomach.  I don't know. I guess I'll go find out!

Hungry Little Caterpillar

Dang it...there was a thread of hope that class would get out 20 minutes early. While the option of not having to come to class one day because of completing a lesson early is really appealing right now, I am hungry enough that I can't pay attention. Well, I haven't really been paying attention all semester. Obviously, since I'm writing this post in class. I guess missing 2 classes has put me behind....oh well. Anyhow, I've been wanting to work at a summer camp or day camp so I can say that I did something exciting with my summer. Plus, summer camps usually pay pretty good money. APRIL 06, 2010 Apparently, I forgot about this unfinished post that I started 5 days ago. My affinity for anything blog like has waned the past couple days. That can be explained away with a few simple explanations that I do not care to explain or even divulge. Ever. Anyway, I left off with wanting to work at a summer or day camp this summer. I found a pretty good day camp down in Provo workin...

School and stuff...

School. Need I say more? I mean seriously. So far this weekend, I have spent hours upon hours researching whether or not consumers would change their shopping habits if they knew how poorly sweatshop employees were being treated. Let me tell you, most people would care about it, but really? There's no way for an individual consumer to change those policies that affect those poor people in sweatshops. I mean yeah, you could go shop at American Apparel or People Tree - who is based in the UK - but when I went to price some of their stuff out, some of it was pretty expensive. More money than I would spend on clothes for myself. *Side note on American Apparel: Your marketing tactics make me throw up. Half dressed girls are not going to make me want to buy your shiz even if its ethically made and/or super inexpensive. If I can see the girl's butt or even bare boobs whilst perusing your website, I don't want to buy it. I'm sorry to those who read my blog and buy their clothin...

Gratitude and Blessings

So, I wanted to update on my little challenge of rededicating myself to putting the Lord first in my life. Just to warn you, my eyes are burning right now from lack of sleep, but this oddly ties into this blog. Monday, I started after my institute class and I told myself, "Self, you will do this challenge. You need to do this challenge to remind yourself that the Lord is there for you." So, I did. I started immediately after my institute class. I had 2 hours left and 2 institute classes to attend so I figured that I'd read my scriptures before my English class after institute. I read my scriptures and said a quick prayer that I'd do well on my English quiz. We didn't have the quiz. Which I guess was sort of a blessing in disguise and a clue that I should study for said quiz. I didn't of course. Anyway, I digress. Monday, we ended up writing a sample paper on happiness so that the Professor could tell if we're plagiarizing any future papers. Tuesday rolls ...

On the first day of school, my Professor gave to me...

It all started on a summer morning in August. I woke up before my alarm went off, which is something I NEVER do voluntarily. Maybe it was nerves or just the fact that I had gone to bed about three hours prior so it was meant to happen. Anyway, I wake up, roll out of bed throw some clean unfolded wrinkly clothes on and get upstairs to eat my bagel and peanut butter. I was ready. My stomach rumbled and grumbled to show its distaste for eating earlier than 9am and because, well, I was nervous. My classes are going to be pretty awesome this semester. Three of my five classes anyway. Hospitality, Intro to Business and English. My English Professor is pulling double duty this year - she teaches at Weber State as well - and is an adamantly professed hater of cell phones and also, as it were, an atheist. She's a little scary in the sense that she's so over the top. She doesn't say anything about religion because, well, she doesn't have a religion, she would probably drop a coup...

Sleep, where art thou?

I know its almost 1:40 am and I'm pretty sure by the time the clock strikes 2am, I'll still be up taking my make up off and taking a shower before I go to bed for the night...err, morning, I mean. At least till its time for me to go to work and to Farmer's Market anyway. So, my one big piece of juicy news....drum roll, please!....my pell grant is paying for ALL of my tuition this semester. ALL $2100 of it. Fees and tuition and whatever the State of Utah wants to charge poor college students, such as I, to attend the fine institution of Utah Valley University. So yes, my friends, I am going to school and I really don't have worry about paying tuition. Next step is paying for books and my id, which I'm hoping that it won't be killer. Anyhow, I'm taking 17 credits this semester and I'll be attending school solid for the next year. At least. I know I mentioned earlier that I was going to to attend Mountainland Applied Tech. College to do the pharmacy tech pr...
