About Religion

Okay, I'm going to preface this blog with a little warning. I rarely talk about religion. I'll bring God up once in a while, but I don't really write about my faith and religion here. Today is different. Today I am writing about my God, my faith, and my religion. You've been warned....for lack of a better word. My dad came home from babysitting my nieces and nephew for a week and a half and needed a break. I was all too happy to oblige. I like sleeping in my bed and waking up when I want to. Anyway, a weekend at home meant that - after being in Ogden for almost three months now - I got to go to my actual ward. There are few things that I tell people about myself. If you don't ask, I don't tell. People NEVER ask about religion. Most people don't know I'm Mormon. I'm a Mormon. Like Gladys Knight and the Osmonds. If you don't know who those people are, do you live under a rock or were you born in the last 15 years? Anyway, I've been str...

Profoundly Rambling Thoughts

I'm here at my brother's house watching the kids. My usually sweet, adorable 1 year old nephew was a little stinker tonight so I figured that I'd give him a bath after I served the girls a scoop of ice cream. The screaming stopped for a little while...until I pulled the stopper from the drain. Screaming and general unhappiness ensued until I gave him his blanket and sat in the rocking chair. Unfortunately, or fortunately - however you want to look at the situation - the girls kept coming into the room thus not letting their little brother fall completely asleep. I was feeling cranky myself so I figured that I'd put him in his crib and just shut the door and walk away. Much to my surprise, there was no fight. No screaming. No crying. He just lay in his crib. Almost an hour later, after the girls finished their Curious George Christmas show on the TiVo , my sweet, adorable 1 year old nephew is still sound asleep. And so are my crazy little nieces. At least I'm hoping ...

I only want to be with you, baby, and nobody else...

I'm sitting at work listening to my Los Lonely Boys CD. They sing in Spanish and, of course, English. I like it a lot. ..."'Cause i only want to be with you. The only girl i see is you, baby and nobody else!." Anyhow, my appendages are cold. The ac is on too high and I'm not completely sure if I have control of the temperature. I haven't found the thermostat yet. No one has come in today and I have a bajillion phones to take inventory of. I should probably work on that. My attention span isn't cooperating today. I think it's because I'm so cold. The cold is making my shoulder ache. Maybe it's because I slept on it wrong last night. Speaking of sleep. I haven't gotten used to the fact that I have to open the store at 9am. I know it's been less than a month since I quit the gas station at which I had to be there at 9am everyday; but still. I've gotten used to staying up late - as in 2 or 3am - and not having to wake up till 10 or 11am...

Alaska

So, I'm not going to Alaska. I'm not as bummed as I thought I would be, but I'm going to miss the potential money that would have come from that job. Honestly, I wanted to go and I even prayed about it knowing that I probably shouldn't go. I applied anyway. What's the harm in trying, right? Anyway, I'm still looking for a better job. The bookstore just isn't cutting it and I'm already stressed out about the bills that seem to be piling up against my wishes. Psh...how dare they? They didn't even ask my permission! I guess it's a good thing that I'm not going. Apparently Heavenly Father has a bigger plan for me and wants me to find some other way to pay for school. It would have been sooo nice to not really have to try and save for school when there aren't any stores in the area of Alaska I would have been going to. Gosh...don't you hate that? Every time I wanted to be given the easy way of doing things, Heavenly Father thinks that it...
