No time

It's been roughly 5 weeks since I last posted anything. Work and school have almost literally sucked the life out of me. My dad and I just got internet at the house, which does make things a lot easier. Even then...I really don't have time to do any real studying. Here's a typical day for me: 7 a.m. alarm goes off. try to wake up. press snooze a couple of times. wouldn't be human if i didn't, right? 7:15 a.m. actually get out of bed 7:20 a.m. shower 7:30 a.m. get dressed for work 7:40 a.m. try to remember to: fill my water bottle grab a can of soup & crackers for lunch grab CNA books & supplies eat something on the way out the door then curse myself for forgetting to grab my smock and name tag. unlock/lock the front door, again. 7:45 a.m. drive to work 8 a.m - 4 p.m work 4 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. take coworker(s) home. 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. CNA class 9:15 p.m. change into pj's. find s...

Weekly Post

Man, I am so happy for having a day off work during the week. Work is closed on Sunday so having 2 days off in a row = bliss. I made myself sleep in today. I literally had to make myself sleep. My body pretty much woke up at 7 am and I had to kick myself. Like I mentioned in my last post, I LOVE sleeping. I can't really function correctly without at least 7 hours of sleep. Otherwise, my brain just can't think straight. So I slept. Then I kind of cleaned my room. I still have put stuff away, but the big "elephant" in the room was my overflowing clothes hamper. When I'm tired or haven't been sleeping when I need it most, my room turns into a war zone. Literally. I hadn't put my clothes away from last week yet, I had socks and shoes and books and yarn all over the floor. Okay, it really wasn't that bad, but for me, it was bad. Anyway, I'm procrastinating going home right now. When I get home I really have to get crackin '. The bathroom has been ig...

New Things

So, I haven't made a public announcement, but I got a job T H R E E weeks ago. I've been gainfully employed for just over 3 weeks ago. I love working. I love having a job. I love being able to buy the stupid things like toothpaste and shampoo, because really? Since I can buy the stupid silly things that people need to function, means that I can start saving, pay tithing, go grocery shopping. Also, since I work for a certain Church funded company, I also get to go to school. For free. Then, after I'm done doing the program that I've been interested in, since forever, I get to go to Weber and finish my bachelor's degree the debt free way. Awesome, right? It is. It's also a lot of work because since the Church is all about self-reliance and what not, I have to do the work all myself which means that I have to find the motivation to go to 2 night classes a week to get to the point where I can finish my bachelor's without going into more debt. But you know what? ...

Hungry Little Caterpillar

Dang it...there was a thread of hope that class would get out 20 minutes early. While the option of not having to come to class one day because of completing a lesson early is really appealing right now, I am hungry enough that I can't pay attention. Well, I haven't really been paying attention all semester. Obviously, since I'm writing this post in class. I guess missing 2 classes has put me behind....oh well. Anyhow, I've been wanting to work at a summer camp or day camp so I can say that I did something exciting with my summer. Plus, summer camps usually pay pretty good money. APRIL 06, 2010 Apparently, I forgot about this unfinished post that I started 5 days ago. My affinity for anything blog like has waned the past couple days. That can be explained away with a few simple explanations that I do not care to explain or even divulge. Ever. Anyway, I left off with wanting to work at a summer or day camp this summer. I found a pretty good day camp down in Provo workin...

Where you lead, I will follow. Anywhere...

So, the store closed 20 minutes ago. Its dark inside except for the Cricket sign in the window and a girl comes into the store asking if we're open. Hm. Now let me think. Its dark inside. What business operates without their lights on? Granted, I probably should have locked the door from the inside, but I'm weird and like getting out of here fast once I've set the alarm. Anyway, its almost time for me to catch the bus to go home. Hopefully I won't have to make an appearance tomorrow granted my brother hasn't worked in TWO freaking days. *sigh* One can hope, right?

I can't keep up and I can't back down...

So, I got a notice from UVU saying that I needed to pay the rest of my tuition or else I'll lose my spot in the class I'm currently taking. Problem is I don't have the money to pay the rest of the tuition. I hate that. It looks like that I'm going to drop the class. I hate that even more than not having enough money for school. Its already going to take me forever to get through school. I wish that I had enough viable credits to transfer to BYU-I . If I seriously applied myself for three semesters at 12 credits per session, then I could transfer. Thats a whole year out of my life going without the things that people my age like having. Like Thai food and any sort of entertainment. Ugh. BYU-I does have the program I want to get into and it actually sounds like an excellent program. I'm surprised that it was any good seeing as its BYU and its Idaho. Who knew? I also looked into a Humanities program at Prescott College in Arizona. They're pretty pricey but it lo...

I only want to be with you, baby, and nobody else...

I'm sitting at work listening to my Los Lonely Boys CD. They sing in Spanish and, of course, English. I like it a lot. ..."'Cause i only want to be with you. The only girl i see is you, baby and nobody else!." Anyhow, my appendages are cold. The ac is on too high and I'm not completely sure if I have control of the temperature. I haven't found the thermostat yet. No one has come in today and I have a bajillion phones to take inventory of. I should probably work on that. My attention span isn't cooperating today. I think it's because I'm so cold. The cold is making my shoulder ache. Maybe it's because I slept on it wrong last night. Speaking of sleep. I haven't gotten used to the fact that I have to open the store at 9am. I know it's been less than a month since I quit the gas station at which I had to be there at 9am everyday; but still. I've gotten used to staying up late - as in 2 or 3am - and not having to wake up till 10 or 11am...

AmeriCorps

So, I just applied to a few AmeriCorp positions which means, if I get an job offers, I won't be able to work at the cell phone store which means, my brother may or may not be so happy with me if I do get a job offer. If I do get a job offer and finish out the year of service required, I'll be able to get an "Education Award". Basically $4800 will go towards school plus whatever else the government will give me. And one of the jobs I applied for called me. I didn't answer though. *stupid stupid stupid!* Gah! Anyway, it's almost time for me to go. I haven't learned anything new today at the cell phone store. I'm a little nervous about it...

I'm feeling...

a little claustrophobic at the moment. Maybe it's because I'm wearing a lot of layers. My ankle is kind of killing me as well. I started the gas station job today. Didn't smell one whiff of gasoline the whole time I was there. That makes me happy. I did, however, have to stand for 5 hours straight. I escaped to the bathroom for a moment just to sit down. I got a free breakfast sandwich today too. Thankfully...I was kind of starving when my boss gave it to me. I need to look up ankle exercises. I don't think my ankle likes me standing up for mass amounts of time with no real break. Or maybe I'm just getting soft from having a sit down job for the past year. ....oh brain fart... I watched the newer version of Pride and Prejudice last night. It was pretty great. I really like Mr. Darcy for the sheer fact that he's really such a gentleman. But I don't think I'll ever be truly in love with him because I actually enjoy working and things like that independence...

I...need...sleep!

Why am I so tired? Oh yeah, I went to bed at 1:30 this morning. At least I attempted to go to bed at 1:30am. I don't think I actually fell asleep till after 2am and then I had to be up at 7:30 this morning! Gah! No wonder I'm so tired! Anyway, I had a pseudo interview this morning at a gas station. They pay 8 bucks an hour for the position I applied for. If I get that job, then I'm quitting the Book Baron. My brother also wants me to work 15 hours a week at his Provo cell store so I think I'll take both jobs and definitely quit the Book Baron. I'll be working a total of 40 hours a week, guaranteed. Plus, I'm pretty sure with both salaries combined, I'll be making enough to pay everything off. Credit card, phone bill, LSI...what else? *lol* Gosh...I really hate being in debt! It's the pits, I tell ya! Well, I'm stuck here at the Book Baron for another 4 hours. I need to actually start doing something constructive with my time otherwise I'm going t...

Alaska

So, I'm not going to Alaska. I'm not as bummed as I thought I would be, but I'm going to miss the potential money that would have come from that job. Honestly, I wanted to go and I even prayed about it knowing that I probably shouldn't go. I applied anyway. What's the harm in trying, right? Anyway, I'm still looking for a better job. The bookstore just isn't cutting it and I'm already stressed out about the bills that seem to be piling up against my wishes. Psh...how dare they? They didn't even ask my permission! I guess it's a good thing that I'm not going. Apparently Heavenly Father has a bigger plan for me and wants me to find some other way to pay for school. It would have been sooo nice to not really have to try and save for school when there aren't any stores in the area of Alaska I would have been going to. Gosh...don't you hate that? Every time I wanted to be given the easy way of doing things, Heavenly Father thinks that it...

Oh the randomness of it all...

So, I'm sitting here at work and I'm really kind of tired. I got enough sleep and I've eaten...I shouldn't be tired, dang it! I need to open the door so there's some cool air coming in through the store. Hopefully that'll keep me awake. *wait, customer approaching. Looks like I have to go back to work for a minute* Ok, while she's busy looking, I'll keep blogging away. I haven't heard from the lady in Alaska, yet. I'm kind of hoping that's where I need to be for the summer. I need to get away from Provo and the "Happy Valley" and just people in general. I've been in Utah Valley for almost 5 years. Moving here was my last big adventure and ever since then, I've been stuck. I don't make enough to go somewhere on a whim and I've had a lot more responsibilities to deal with. I need to get out. I need a vacation. In the past 5 years, I haven't had a proper vacation. Going to visit family isn't vacation, going on R...

Books and more books

So, I've started working at a little bookstore off of State Street and 400 South here in South Orem recently and tonight was my first night closing all by myself. It seems like this will be the norm. I don't know if I'll ever get home before 7pm for as long as I work here. Lovely...just lovely. I applied for a job in Alaska on Sunday. I don't know if I'll even get the job, but if I do get an offer to go, I don't know what I'll do. It seems like they need me here at the bookstore, but at the same time, they aren't paying me enough to make it worth my time to stay through the summer. Anyway, I need to catch the bus and meet my roommate at the Wilk for some celebratory ice cream.
