I can do hard things

School has started. I love that on the first day of class it smells of freshly mowed grass and that the buildings smell clean. The Woodbury has gotten its face-lift and parts of campus have gotten a little lift as well. I think it's weird that the incoming freshmen, the ones right out of high school, are so small. I don't know...like whenever you drive past the MTC and the missionaries are, they all look small. Anyhow, I've gone to all my classes and my professors, I think, will all be pretty cool. Although, I'm not terribly excited about my math class. I already missed the second day of class. I had one of those mornings where you intend to wake up and get to class on time, but totally turned off my alarm clock unconsciously turned off my alarm clock. Well, I guess I'd have to be a quarter lucid to reach over and turn it off, but I have absolutely no recollection of ever moving my arm to do so. Let me tell you, it's been a long week of not getting enough sleep...

School is fo' fools

My first class starts in a few minutes.  I'm getting little butterflies in my tummy. I don't know if it's because I'm excited (which I am...a little anyway), apprehensive (which, again, I am), or just  sheer unpreparedness fluttering about my stomach.  I don't know. I guess I'll go find out!

Weird

It's weird to me that I've only posted 23 posts this year and that the year is more than half done. Summer is coming to a close, which I'm a little melancholy about by the way, and fall is slowly coming upon us. I love the fall. I dare say, I love it a tad more than the summer. Summer = snow cones, flip flops, coconut scented tanning oil, bbq's and everything loud and boisterous.  Fall = warm sweaters and long sleeved shirts that I bought the beginning of the summer for a quarter at  Old Navy, cute socks, quiet, chilly autumn evenings and bon fires, pumpkins, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  I love the fall. I love that it isn't going to be hot. Although, we've had a pretty mild summer compared to everywhere else in the world. Anyway...I digress.  I'm ready for school to start. Although, I'm going to miss sleeping in and not having to do homework. But really? I ready to have something to do aside from going to work and hating the fact that my job is pre...

Really really...

I'd really like to post an entry right now, but as I'm sitting here at school looking out on of the massive windows on the 4th floor of the Losee Center - one of the only places I can get away with a little peace and quiet and a get away from the few too many tee-ha ha's hanging around - a massive lightening storm is brewing just on the other side of the lake. *Wow...that was a long sentence.* Anyway, my choice of summer wardrobe consists of flip flops, shorts and a white t-shirt. Yes...a white t-shirt. My favorite choice of clothing for the summer. As much as I love rain, my love mostly encompasses summer storms, it does not bode well for that I am wearing a white t-shirt if it starts raining on my way home. But seriously, what the heck is up with this crazy weather? I mean, I love it and all, but I'd like to at least make it more than halfway home to take a walk home in the loveliness that is a summer storm rather than sit on a bus with a bunch of rain soaked passenge...

Hives and BBQ's

So, this morning as I was trying to store up the few of hours of sleep I had left before work this morning, I realized, about two hours into my "nap", my stomach was crazy itchy. Kind of like a million ants had climbed into my room in the wee hours of the morning, chomped on my abdomen and left. Naturally, I start itching and itching while I was intermittently trying to just sleep as much I could. I sleep for another hour and my legs, my arms and my chest start itching. So dear readers, if I don't make any sense today, it's because I am going on 3 hours of sleep trying to recover from the mystery hives while bbq-ing at my brother's for Pioneer Day. Ugh...what a day it has been so far. I've worked 6 days this week just to make up for the lack of hours I've worked in the past 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be short on my rent for August. Hopefully, I'll come out with enough money. idk. I suppose I just need a new job where they aren'...

For the Love...

So, I think I have the best roommates ever. I've had very few unlovable roommates in the past, for which I am grateful. I am thankful that I have been blessed with wonderful roommates. I've been able to talk with them, share laughs with them, talk about boys with them....all in all, we've been having a fabulous summer together. Tonight, my roommate Alicia and I went to go play tennis with a few people from the ward. We have little "clubs" that meet once a week just to have the chance to hang out and get to know each other outside of church and FHE . Today is Cardio Club Treat Thursdays. Wednesdays are Game Nights. Tuesdays are kind of unofficial. Tuesdays are usually Temple Tennis Treat Tuesday but I don't know how many people know about that one. Anyway, tonight, as per usual, we played tennis. We love tennis in our ward...and soccer. The boys love dodge ball, but the girls stopped playing with the boys ever since Kara got knocked unconscious. Anyhow, I digr...

I guess...

So, apparently, I haven't updated my blog in 5 weeks or so. That's how long I've been not living at my brother's house. 5 whole weeks...for some reason it seems a lot longer than that. Anyhow, I'm not in a huge mood for updating, so I'll hit the highlights a la list de Joyce. *There was a Polish girl staying at my house for almost a month. The novelty ran out after she was making no effort to go back to Poland even though her visa had run out and she was technically illegal. I don't really know how to explain what she is like. She definitely was one of those people who was using us to make her life easier while making our - my roommates and mine - lives harder. You'd expect someone to put forth extra effort to make up for the fact that you can't work in the country legally by cleaning the house, maybe even mowing the lawn once or twice. I mean, it's not like we were making her pay rent or for anything. idk. If someone is unable to work and has no...
