Reasons


So, you remember from the last post when I said things were "a-changin'"? Well, they are.

I'm moving to Hillsboro, Oregon.


ETA: November 1st, but probably November 4th so I can at least finish the pay period
instead of leaving in the middle of it.

Anyway, here's a quick list of things I bet you didn't know about Hillsboro:

*It's near the ghost town of Idiotville, Oregon. Real place. Wiki or google it.
*What Draper, Utah is to SLC is exactly what Hillsboro is unto Portland.
Almost the same place.
*Has AMAZING parks and waterfalls.
*All voting is done by mail. Secretly, I'm a little bummed about not getting a
"I voted" sticker.

Okay, so I could only really think of 4 things that you might not have known about Hillsboro or the surrounding area. Oregon as a state though, is pretty dang fantastic. I'll finally be able to partake in the Goonie-for-the-day festivities in Astoria.

While there are many reasons why I'm moving away, the main reason is that of cutting ties with one certain person who, while not aimed directly at me, has made my life hard to live here in Utah. I'll probably never be rid of this person as long as my little brother and father are alive so the easiest thing for me to do is to move and hopefully salvage the already horrible relationship I have with my father. I might be exaggerating a little - or a lot - about the state of my relationship with him; in it's current state of well-being, it is not what it should be. Distance is supposed to make the heart grow fonder, yes?

Hopefully that reasoning will prove itself to be of worth.

work. school. new places to discover. goonie-for-a-day day in astoria, oregon. pretty much the same thing i'm doing in utah. just a different place.

Done

I am so happy that I'm done moving! Now comes the almost unwelcome task of unpacking. As it would have it, I've moved into a smaller space and I need to throw out a few things. Maybe, once everything is cleaned up, I'll take pictures. My younger brother, the previous tenant of the space, has left the bathroom a complete mess. Thank goodness for Scrubbing Bubbles and some pretty amazing toilet cleaner. It'll probably take a another day or two to get the shower to the point where I won't be afraid to shower in it. Its pretty nasty I tell you. Anyway, I'm running out of things to write about today. I'm not feelin' it...

Like A Prayer

Recently - actually, more like since May - I've been listening to a lot of Madonna. But not just regular Madonna, Glee's remakes of Madonna classics. I'm addicted. As much as I like the original Material Girl, I like shaking my music up a little bit on my iPod. Also, I've been listening to a lot of Carter Hulsey. I'm pretty sure that he'll be another popular Myspace find with the likes of Colbie Caillat, Brendan James, and Angel Taylor. Seriously, if you haven't heard anything from Brendan James and Angel Taylor, I think you may be missing out on some awesome tunes. I like Colbie Caillat, but she's been overplayed for a while now, so I've been looking for similar music. I definitely recommend Brendan James, Angel Taylor and Carter Hulsey. They've all got myspace pages and music on iTunes and Amazon, so look them up.
