Unconventional Updating

So, can you guess from what machine I'm updating? If you guessed Wii, you're right! It's totally tedious and I'm so over it. I suppose it'd be nice ina pinch, but normally not worth the time. lesson learned.

Old

My shoulder is killing me. It hurts when I breathe. It hurts when I cough. I've probably slept on it wrong and compound it with a bit of stress ba da bing ba da boom and there you have it, sore shoulder. I've also started to notice those tiny feather-like wrinkles at the corners of my eyes. You can hardly tell they're there, but I find it strange that I'm starting to notice the change in my skin as I'm approaching the big 3-0. Man...what a depressing thought.

Gratitude

This conference talk given by Elder Holland says what my heart means to say today about how much I am grateful for the Gospel in my life. I love that the church is true anywhere you go in the world. I was looking through some Facebook pages the other night of friends and Young Women's leaders of days gone by and I am thankful for the testimony that I was able to gain while growing up in the Fresno North Stake. Having such strong leaders in my youth has given me shining example of the kind of woman I want to become. One in particular, Danielle Lewis, is a woman I look up to. Aside from my mother, she is someone that I try to emulate because of her goodness, her testimony, and her love of the truthfulness of the Gospel.  I'm thankful that I was able to strengthen that testimony before my mom passed away. I used to talk to my mom while she was under the stupor of morphine during those last few days of her mortal life. I wasn't sure if she could hear me, but I could feel her ...

So Many Things...

I've been contemplating so many things the past month and I don't know where it leaves me yet. There are a lot of things that I would rather be doing right now. Things I want to finish before I get "old". Places I want to visit and live. I feel I'm getting cagey, like I've been sitting in one place too long. I contemplated, for almost a whole second, about becoming transient. Cutting all my ties here in Utah, selling my stuff, pack my bags, buy a train ticket and just let the wind take me wherever it pleases. It's a little strange thing to think about. The idea of packing up and selling most of my possessions to travel at a single whim is something that I want to do, but at the same time, I feel like I have to stay here because it's what is "expected" and "proper". I want to be a gypsy with a modern day twist. I look at people who have unlimited funds because they're trust fund kids or bum off the kindness of others and feel s...

Sometimes....

Being an adult sucks. I'm lacking the motivation I need to do well in school. I love learning. I love the smell of textbooks. But I hate 2 of my 5 professors which is quite problematic considering one of the subjects I succeed at when I'm not really trying.  Anyway, I really, really, REALLY need a break. Which brought me to perusing a map of the United States. I made a list of places I'd like to live or visit. I came upon the little coastal gem of Tillamook, Oregon . I've made it a goal to move there in a year. I need to get outta Dodge for a while. I'm pretty sure that I'll be taking online courses through UVU just to preserve my in state tuition status.  I promise to send everyone cheese for Christmas. :-)

Like A Prayer

Recently - actually, more like since May - I've been listening to a lot of Madonna. But not just regular Madonna, Glee's remakes of Madonna classics. I'm addicted. As much as I like the original Material Girl, I like shaking my music up a little bit on my iPod. Also, I've been listening to a lot of Carter Hulsey. I'm pretty sure that he'll be another popular Myspace find with the likes of Colbie Caillat, Brendan James, and Angel Taylor. Seriously, if you haven't heard anything from Brendan James and Angel Taylor, I think you may be missing out on some awesome tunes. I like Colbie Caillat, but she's been overplayed for a while now, so I've been looking for similar music. I definitely recommend Brendan James, Angel Taylor and Carter Hulsey. They've all got myspace pages and music on iTunes and Amazon, so look them up. Not that Madonna and all my fave myspace finds are in any way related - aside from the fact that they all sing and make music - ...

Movers and Shakers

So, my sister and I finally moved back to Provo. It would seem that neither of us can get enough of Provizzle. We got lucky and found a place that included almost all of the utilities - except gas and electric - and found a roommate off CraigsList who isn't psycho. We are, however, looking for a fourth roommate. So dear readers, if you know of someone who needs a place, let me know. Anyhow, in the midst of moving everything, buying groceries, and storage bins, I have come to find that I love WinCo. I love that store. Probably more than any other grocery store that I've ever gone to. They've got cheap cheese, Tillamook Vanilla Bean ice cream, 3 pack of popcorn for 78 cents, and my personal favorite - bulk foods. I bought honey, almond butter, 2 different types of flour, pancake mix, biscuit mix, jasmine rice, 3 different kinds of sugar, and a whole bunch of spices that were about 10 times - cheaper than the already bottled stuff at WalMart and Maceys. Seriously, if you lov...
