Christmas Recap

So Christmas was pretty fantastic. I slept over at my brother's house in American Fork and had Christmas Eve dinner there. Mexican style sans any cooking. We had homemade tamales that someone else made and posole that was mass produced somewhere in Mexico...or maybe California. For dessert, we had pan dulce. It was pretty great, laid back and delicioso. Christmas morn we all woke up around 8 am and opened presents. I didn't want much but I made off with pretty fantastic stuff. All the Santa presents my nieces and nephew got were wrapped in special Santa wrapping paper. It had yellow warning tape and postmarks printed on the paper. It was pretty clever wrapping paper if I do say so myself.

Now I'm home and packing my stuff - again - to move to Ogden, Utah with my dad. I still have to call him and finalize a few things, but I'm moving. This is the third time I've moved this year, but it feels like it needs to be done. I need to get out of Utah County. And it's time for a new start. New year = new start. Just somewhere else.

I don't feel sad that I'm leaving all the people I know here. Like at all. Sure, there are few people that I'll miss, but very few. Maybe all of 10 people at the most. It's time to make friends that I can call my people. People that I can count on. Who are loyal. I mean, of those maybe 10 people I'll actually miss, I can count on them most of of the time. I just need a little bit more connection though. idk. Maybe I'm just rambling right now. Actually I am. But whatev.

So, Ogden, here I come. And Weber State, please, be nice to me!

What the crap is that mascot? A tomcat? Duh...had to look it up but, I'll be Wildcat in just little bit. :)

Hooray!

I've lost 9.2 pounds in the last 6 days. I'm excited! The picture really doesn't have anything to do with weight loss per se, but it does have the word reduce on it and I took the picture, so I'm putting it up. :-]

Sleepiness becomes me

*sigh* I miss the ocean. Not really the Atlantic Ocean, although I have to say that the East Coast has some beautiful beaches. But the Pacific Ocean will always be home to me. I miss it. I miss the hot sand, the coconut scented sunscreen and tanning oil, the salty sea air, the random volleyball games, the hot surfer boys. I miss it all. Its my favorite place where you can watch the sunset while looking out over the water. Its amazing! Sure, it gets hot, but really? When you're there at the beach looking at the water, taking it all in, it doesn't really matter how hot it is. I've always loved the water. It has a calming effect over me like lavender oil in a steamy bath. I wish I could just be a beach bum for the rest of my life. I'd take photos and sell them to support my needs. Kind of like what Thoreau did at Walden Pond. I really only need the simple things in life and the beach and ocean. I could get along without my phone and definitely without my alarm clock. Just ...

Hooray for Holi!

My friend Kim and I will be going to celebrate Holi with our fellow Hindus today. I'm not sure if half the people going today actually know what Holi is except for the fact that it is fun. Go to this link and learn about Holi! *Pictures will be forthcoming!* **ETA: So, there was a HUGE accident on the freeway on the way to Spanish Fork yesterday and being the impatient driver that I am, decided to go around the accident. We went through Springville and Mapleton to avoid the accident. Well, not knowing what exit we were at, we weren't sure where we were and completely missed the festival. I was a little bummed. Well, a lot bummed. Kim and I went up the Spanish Fork Canyon instead to a town that was flooded years ago. Hopefully Kim won't hate me forever for missing the festival...
