Mama always said...

To drink your water. I've been drinking 3 liters of water every day for the past week and let me tell you: I have not peed so much in my life. My skin has cleared up too. I've been taking Omega 3 fish oil, which not only helps lower and protect my heart from my high cholesterol, but it also aids in skin and joint health.

To moisturize! I bought my fave "I'm-poorer-than-poor" stand-by: Suave. I bought a small bottle of the Advanced Therapy. I think my skin loves this lotion. Especially my elbows and feet. Speaking of moister, my lips are chapped like no other which adds to my list of things I don't like about Utah. Moist is starting sound weird...and a little dirty. >.<

Eat your veggies and fruit. I have had so much fruit this week and I have loved every single minute of it! I bought cherries today from Albertsons on one of my spur of the moment stops. I'm excited to eat my cherries. I miss my fruit stands in California. Especially my summertime fruit stands! Central Valley is home to fresh everything. My faves: strawberries, watermelon, peaches, nectarines, green beans, corn, tomatoes, raspberries, boysenberries, blackberries, apricots....I love it all!

Broaden your horizons. I am normally a sit back and observe the crowd kind of girl. I've been going to my family ward for the past couple months but caught wind that Church Headquarters sent word to my Stake that they needed to have all the young single adults go to the Singles Ward. So, I am broadening my horizons and going to the Singles Ward. When I was in the ward a year and a half ago, I didn't like it. The 6 months I was in the ward before, I didn't ever get a visit from my Home or Visiting teachers. Not that my family ward is so different, but you'd figure, in a ward of less than 100 people, you'd get a visit from one or the other. Even now, the former EQ President drove past my house a couple days ago and didn't even wave, smile or nod. Honestly now, even if he were remotely attractive, I wouldn't have fallen in love or like with him. I would have smiled and given a small wave and gone about my business. Its called being neighborly.

*sidenote* I HATE when people you've seen at church and are even in the same ward aren't neighborly. In the singles ward, the girls aren't going to fall in love with you just because you smile or wave to them as you drive by. At least this girl won't because, if we're being honest, you probably aren't worth it if you can't make yourself be friendly. /sidenote

Early to sleep, early to rise. Yeah, this has gone to pot. Its been a while since I've had a "normal" 9 to 5 job, I haven't had to really adhere to this rule. I know I'm capable of it. Four years of early morning seminary will do that to you...even if I was late every single day.

Well, some day I'll post a real post...I'm busy watching the Create channel. Check it out. If you don't have Dish or Comcast and are rollin' old school, its channel 11.4. Its the channel after the BYU channels and right before Fox. Watch it. You'll love it.

Amen to that! I went to a singles ward up in Salt Lake and once was enough.

Nope. I'm going to the singles ward here in American Fork. I didn't like it before when I lived here and it seems that it may be the same now. But I'm giving it a try and ignoring the a-hole who may or may not think that girls will fall in love with him if he waves to them while driving by their house.

Hooray!

I've lost 9.2 pounds in the last 6 days. I'm excited! The picture really doesn't have anything to do with weight loss per se, but it does have the word reduce on it and I took the picture, so I'm putting it up. :-]

Sleepiness becomes me

*sigh* I miss the ocean. Not really the Atlantic Ocean, although I have to say that the East Coast has some beautiful beaches. But the Pacific Ocean will always be home to me. I miss it. I miss the hot sand, the coconut scented sunscreen and tanning oil, the salty sea air, the random volleyball games, the hot surfer boys. I miss it all. Its my favorite place where you can watch the sunset while looking out over the water. Its amazing! Sure, it gets hot, but really? When you're there at the beach looking at the water, taking it all in, it doesn't really matter how hot it is. I've always loved the water. It has a calming effect over me like lavender oil in a steamy bath. I wish I could just be a beach bum for the rest of my life. I'd take photos and sell them to support my needs. Kind of like what Thoreau did at Walden Pond. I really only need the simple things in life and the beach and ocean. I could get along without my phone and definitely without my alarm clock. Just ...

Hooray for Holi!

My friend Kim and I will be going to celebrate Holi with our fellow Hindus today. I'm not sure if half the people going today actually know what Holi is except for the fact that it is fun. Go to this link and learn about Holi! *Pictures will be forthcoming!* **ETA: So, there was a HUGE accident on the freeway on the way to Spanish Fork yesterday and being the impatient driver that I am, decided to go around the accident. We went through Springville and Mapleton to avoid the accident. Well, not knowing what exit we were at, we weren't sure where we were and completely missed the festival. I was a little bummed. Well, a lot bummed. Kim and I went up the Spanish Fork Canyon instead to a town that was flooded years ago. Hopefully Kim won't hate me forever for missing the festival...
