Life

So, I've decided to write down those journal prompts down in my paper journal. I come to Blogger pretty regularly, but when it comes down to typing out the prompts, I just don't have to motivation to catch up on whole weeks worth. Plus, I think it'd be kind of cool for my - hopeful - posterity to dig through my journals some day. I'm a journal/paper nerd, so I have a lot of differently sized journals. Anyway, I'm going to my assigned ward in about 12 hours. I've been avoiding the whole BYU singles ward scene since I moved back to Provo. The Bishop made a surprise visit yesterday morning. I was still in bed after finishing yesterday's graveyard shift. I think I had made it to 4 hours of sleep before they came. I'm surprised they're even letting me attend the ward at all. This will be a good jumping off to start some introspection of things I need to work on. Pretty vague, huh? Let's just say that there is a lot that I need to work that I've ...

Catch Up

Here's my weekly update on my journal goal this year: January 5th: What was your last major accomplishment? I'm all for small victories. The last major one was finding a job outside of the retail world. It's been a nice break not having to deal with customers. January 6th: What is one possession you could not live without? My laptop...and my phone. I don't think I'd be able to live without Instagram. January 7th: Can people change? I think if they really want the change, they can. Maintenance of said change is hard though. But I think if you've invested your whole self in the change that you want, then it's possible to achieve and then maintain. For me, I need a good support system to even achieve change. Maintenance has always been pretty easy for me if I've worked hard enough for what I want. January 8th: What is the last "good" you ate? Taste wise? The beginning of the month I went to Tucanos. It was really, really, really yummy....

New Goal

So, I just found this cool journaling prompt on Pinterest and I want to give it a shot. I don't know if I'm going to actually do this every single day. I might just condense it into a weekly thing. Anyway, I'm going to start with January 1 till today and then go from there. January 1, 2013 What is your number one goal this year? Well...I have a few goals that always make the list. Just like the rest of America, I want to lose weight and get healthy this year. But now that I have the motivation and the means to spend a little bit more on healthier food options, I'm going to do this. When it comes to money, why is it that people always become a little more invested in things? idk...anyway. That isn't my number one goal. Well, maybe it is. I left my list at home so I don't remember what actually made the numero uno spot. I'll keep you updated. January 2, 2013 What are you most grateful for? Today, I am most grateful for a warm bedroom to go home to. ...
uhm....I don't know why, but this gif makes me incredibly happy and stuff. I ♥ you, Joseph Gordon-Levitt! oh...and thanks SNL for having him. He's such a stud.

Christmas Tunes

Sometime last summer, I downloaded Spotify to my dad's old desktop computer. I didn't really think anything about it when I moved to Portland last December and didn't have regular computer access. But when I bought my laptop in March, I immediately downloaded it and I haven't looked at iTunes at all. I do have an iPod. A really spiffy, sleek, shiny kelly green iPod. I haven't taken it out since March. Although, the one day that I wanted to download new music, I do something weird on my laptop and erase EVERYTHING. I'm bummed. My little 11 year old brother had recorded him doing some sweet dance moves. Anyway, I've been compiling my Christmas tunes list since November 1st. I feel like it's still WAY too early to be listening to Christmas music all the time, but at least once a week, I bring it out and listen to some of my list. Also, really random, Spotify teaches you something you never knew. For example: I never knew that the boys from One Direction hav...

A Change Will Do You Good

Things are a'changin 'round these parts. First off, I'm finally moving out of my brother's house...thank cheesus! As much as I've loved hanging out with my nieces and nephew, I've got to say that the idea of having a REAL bed to sleep in makes me weep tears of joy. Okay, maybe not literally, but I seriously cannot wait to sleep in a real bed on Friday. Second, as some of you may - or may not - know, it's hard to get a job interview at BYU as a non-student worker or as someone who has never attended. I put in two applications for the bookstore on campus thinking that I'd get a rejection email. But I didn't. Yesterday, I had a short phone interview with a girl from the e-commerce department of the bookstore and she said that as soon as the HR department reviews my application, that they'll give me a call. I'm pretty hopeful. While the position isn't a permanent one, I'll be thankful for the extra money. If I get this job, I'll get...

At Work

Today marks my 5th shift here at work. I've been called in once and have had to come in early so another staff member could take a girl to the hospital for mild concussion. My experience so far has been pretty good. I haven't met a lot of the girls, but I'm feeling like that's a good thing. They should be asleep when I'm here. I'm figuring out, very quickly, that my shift doesn't require a whole lot from me. I have to check on the girls a minimum of 31 times during my shift and if they have to use the bathroom, I let them. But other than that, I pretty much sit around on Facebook or Tumblr or Blogger. I get to do whatever I want in between checks. If I had a job where I needed to actually do something, I think I'd enjoy the graveyard shift a lot more.  So, yeah...work is going well. I just wish that I had a an extra shift or two during the week so I don't have to stress out so much about money and how I'm going to be able to afford rent and ...
